Aurora

Write a Review on this Ship

Overview

This ship has a cosmopolitan feel, with lots of options not previously available to the British market. There is an excellent range of facilities, although some people service and quality has suffered as a result. Aurora is the first ship sailing ex-UK cruises to offer 24-hour dining.

Overall, the usual friendly and efficient service you would expect from P&O, although passengers have said the second service in the Medina restaurant is rushed and the service in the Orangery has been described as patchy.

Suitability

Ideal for passengers who want a quintessentially ‘British’ experience, including the traditional formal afternoon tea.

Good for families, as there are excellent children’s facilities.

Cruisers wanting a more casual experience may prefer to look elsewhere, as some passengers have said there are too many formal nights, although there is the option to eat in the self-service restaurant.

Excellent access for the physically challenged, with automatically opening cabin doors.

Hints & Tips

This ship offers some good short-break taster cruises for first-timers.

Passengers have rated the Bordeaux Café, which has a cover charge in the evening, but not at other times.

People on the first sitting for dinner have complained that, once the after-dinner show has ended, there is little to do.
