Costa Allegra

Write a Review on this Ship

Overview

Expect an elegant cruise in very comfortable surroundings, with most guests coming from Italy. Cabins could be accused of being small and there are only 10 with balconies. The Montmartre Restaurant can be noisy. The ship operates Mediterranean and Caribbean cruises.

Staff are friendly and attentive, with a casual and fun outlook. Officers are Italian, but the rest of the crew are multi-national.

Suitability

The Allegra is ideal for those first-time cruisers wanting an Italian-style cruise on a ship with plenty of desk space and decent interiors. The client base is international European and youngish.

Hints & Tips

If you have children be prepared to look after them as the kids’ areas are smallish.

As with other Costa ships, there are a lot of announcements in many languages, which can be irritating.

The Crystal Club Disco is worth a visit if you are young at heart, but if not head for the very good espresso bars around the ship. And remember there will be a toga party.
