Overview

There is real excitement among cruise ship enthusiasts about the launch, in December 2007, of Cunard’s new ship, Queen Victoria. Like sister ships QE2 and QM2, Queen Victoria will have a distinctive black and red livery, and be based at her home port of Southampton

The ship will have the classic characteristics of a traditional Cunard liner, with elegant public rooms, but she will also have some new innovations, such a private viewing boxes in the Royal Court Theatre and alfresco dining for Grill passengers.

Queen Victoria’s maiden voyage is in December 2007 on a 10-night Christmas Markets voyage, from Southampton.

Suitability

Any cruise ship or ocean liner enthusiast will love this ship, particularly as it will have a museum of Cunard memorabilia on board.
Though dedicated to the British market, Cunard attracts passengers from all over the world, particularly the US.

There is a wide-range of accommodation, with fares on the maiden voyage starting at just £999, and the ship is already attracting lots of interest.
