Overview

Previously the Cunard Caronia, this classic-looking ship was built in 1973. It underwent a $17-million refit before becoming Saga’s second ship in 2005. Again, it offers some interesting and unusual itineraries. The European and Filipino staff are friendly and helpful.

Suitability

Saga holidays are strictly for the 50-plus age group.

All passengers are British and there are cabins for single people.

It pays to get a Saga Visa card, as you get a 5% discount every time you use it.

Tips are included in the price.

There are male hosts on board to dance and accompany single women travellers.

In addition to the main restaurant, there is an alternative dining room. It only has 12 tables, so reservations are needed, but there is no extra charge to eat there.
