Overview

One of Royal Caribbean’s Radiance family of ships, this is a mid-sized ship (only 2,000 passengers, compared to 3,000 on some of the line’s other ships).

This vessel has more cabins with balconies than many other ships of its size and a more European feel than some ships in the fleet, however, most of the passengers are American.

The clever use of glass, including floor to ceiling windows in the public areas, gives the ship a spacious feel.
Features include a retractable glass roof in the pool and lounge area.

Service is friendly rather than sophisticated, and you don’t get the attention to detail and the special, personal service that you will find on smaller ships.

Suitability

An excellent choice for couples, first-timers and experienced cruisers, as there is so much to do on board. Good value for money.

Royal Caribbean is one of the best options for families as it has extensive facilities for children and an excellent kids’ club.

Passengers who want a more British experience may prefer to travel on P&O.

Hints & Tips

Suite passengers have their own club for breakfast and evening drinks.

Text-mad cruisers will be pleased to know that mobile phones can be used at sea.

On-line check in has recently been introduced, saving queues at embarkation.
