The ship is over 20-years-old but has a good amount of outside areas and the interior is well furnished in an Italian-style. A 2004 refit added 246 balconies and this is a welcome upgrade. The standard cabins are okay, if rather small. The theatre is very standard. Cruises include South America and Mediterranean.
Staff are friendly and attentive, with a casual and fun outlook. Officers are generally Italian, but the rest of the crew are generally Filipino and offer good service.
Suitability
Most suited to those wanting a young, fun, cruise in an Italian-style. The client base is families with children, European and youngish.
Hints & Tips
Best views and bar are in the Concorde Plaza observation lounge. The ship, as with all Costa’s vessels, can be noisy and there is a push for extra onboard sales from waiters and the spa. There is an indoor pool.
