The ambience is laid-back and American in style. The ship has an excellent kids’ club, although the vast majority of users are from North America. Service is friendly and efficient.
This was the first NCL ship to incorporate ‘luxury villas’ on the ship, offering butler service, private lounge and with a private courtyard housing a swimming pool, hot tub and sun deck. The ship sails seven-day, inter-island itineraries out of Honolulu, offering some magical off-shore excursions, such as helicopter rides over the island.
A highlight of the trip is an after-dark sail past the glowing Mount Kilauea, a volcano that has been erupting for over 20 years.
SuitabilityBecause of its itinerary – the ship sails from and round Hawaii – this cruise will suit a particular clientele looking for a different cruise experience.
This is probably not the cruise for first-timers from the UK, and there are lots of Americans on board. Some cruisers may prefer a ship that caters to the UK market. Most people from the UK are couples.
Passengers who like to visit the casino while on a cruise should look at other options – there is no casino on board as gambling is not allowed in Hawaii. Hints & TipsThere is no casino on board.
Gratuities are added as standard to your on-board account – these can be removed upon request.
Most UK passengers add on a week’s stay in a hotel in Hawaii.
There are some special offers available at the moment, offering free room upgrades for early bookers.
The ships operate under Hawaiian law, meaning no alcohol is served to under 21s.
