Write a Review on this Ship

Overview

One of the line’s six Vision-class ships, Enchantment of the Seas is nearly 10 years old has recently been stretched – an extra bit has been added in the middle. The result is a bigger spa and rock climbing wall and Concierge Club for suite passengers. The ship has fewer cabins with balconies than on newer ships in the fleet.

Service is friendly, although there is lots of up-selling, which can be annoying.

The ship caters for the mainly American market – meaning lots of dining options, including fast food.

Suitability

Good value for money and popular with couples, families, first-timers and experienced cruisers. The ship has family suites, however, facilities for younger children will find there are more options on one of the bigger, newer Royal Caribbean ships.

Hints & Tips

Text-mad cruisers will be pleased to know that mobile phones can be used at sea. Pre-paid drinks packages for adults and soda packages for kids are available.

As on many big ships, the excursions sell out quickly. There is a relaxation room in the spa, which is free to use and passengers don’t have to book a treatment to use it.

Passengers have recommended buying the wine package, available on the first night, where you can get seven good bottles of wine for about £100, which works out cheaper than buying individual bottles.

15% gratuity is automatically added to drinks bills.

There is a charge for some exercise classes. Rock-climbing is free, but it is popular and you have to book in advance.

Tips can be added to your on-board account, or paid individually to staff at the end of the cruise.

If booking a honeymoon, you can book a his and her massage.

On-line registration is now available, saving time at the embarkation port.
