Public Areas

Carnival Freedom has 13 decks, although superstition dictates that there is no deck 13. So the top deck, which is actually only the top of the water slide, is numbered 14. Next down is 12, which is also just a segment of deck, this time housing Camp Carnival kids’ club.

Forward on deck 11 is the spa and gym, with sauna and steam rooms. Aft is the sports area and jogging track.

Deck 10 houses the spa pool, Supper Club and upper level of the self-service, and there is a view down to the lobby eight decks below.

Deck nine is the lido deck, with two swimming pools. One is mid-ships, and has a big screen showing films and sporting events. The other is at the aft end of the vessel, behind the self-service buffet, and has a retractable roof that can be opened in sunny weather.

Decks eight, seven and six are devoted to cabins, as are decks one and two. There are also cabins forward on decks, nine, 10 and 11.

The front of deck five is the upper level of the three-tier Victoriana theatre, to the rear is the International Lounge. In between, there’s a shopping arcade, Babylon Casino, Studio ’70s night club, Scott’s piano bar and Club O2 teen club. There is also a sushi bar, Viennese Café and wine bar.

Deck four houses the upper level of the two dining rooms, a library and drawing room, and the large Habana Bar – Cuba in the 1940s - plus the middle tier of the theatre.

The lower level of the theatre is on deck three, which is also the lower level of the atrium. To one side is the reception desk, to the other the shore excursion desk. The lower levels of the dining rooms are on this deck, as is the art gallery.

Cabins

Carnival Freedom has 1,487 staterooms, ranging from inside cabins to suites and penthouses, of which 917 have an ocean view and 574 have a private balcony. There are 18 family ocean-view cabins with floor-to ceiling windows; 25 cabins have wheelchair access.

All cabins have TVs, safes and toiletries. They also all have access to free 24-hour room service. Suite passengers get a video recorder; those sailing from the US have priority check-in.

Inside cabins measure 185 square feet, while outside and balcony cabins are 220 square feet. Suites measure 340 square feet, penthouses are 430 square feet.

A number of cabins on decks two, six, seven, nine and 10 have partially obstructed views.
