Overview

One of Carnival’s four Spirit-class ships, it is smaller than Liberty and her sister ships. The ship is based in Alaska in the summer, and amid the onboard party atmosphere, there is the chance to see and learn about the local wildlife. There is also a wedding chapel for renewal of vows.
Service is quick, with lots of up-selling.

Suitability

Aimed at a younger, predominantly American crowd that likes to have fun. This can be a culture shock to Brits who are fans of the more refined P&O-type cruises. Generally very good value for money.
In the summer, the ship sails from Alaska. It’s a good option for families, as it has a good kids’ club and tailored shore excursions for teens.

Charges are made to your on-board account for tips as soon as you arrive. This can be removed or altered at your request.

There is a charge for welcome drinks handed out on arrival, though this is not made clear when it is thrust in your hand. Buy a pre-paid Fountain Fun card to purchase soft drinks.
