Public Areas

Costa Serena has 13 public decks, but deck 13 is actually numbered 14 and houses the top of the giant water slide.

Deck 12 is split into two sections. Forward is the upper level of the two-deck Samsara Spa, housing the solarium, a tea house and treatment rooms. The Racing Bar is by the Formula One simulator, where for a small supplement passengers aged over 16 can test their skills around one of two Grand Prix tracks. Aft is a jogging track and sports court.

The forward section of Deck 11 is the lower level of the Samsara Spa, housing the thermal suite, a relaxation area, the gym and some Samsara cabins. There is also a spa pool, children’s pool and Club Bacco speciality restaurant.

There are more Samsara cabins on deck 11, as well as the children’s club and upper deck of the self-service buffet. Deck nine is the lido deck, with two swimming pools, one mid-ships, the other at the aft end, behind the lower deck of the buffet.

Decks eight, seven and six and cabins, as are decks two and one.

The theatre spans three decks at the front of the ship, with the upper level on deck five. Deck five also houses the theatre, a library, shopping gallery, art gallery, cigar room and card room.

The Grand Bar Apollo is mid-ships, close to a sports bar and the Café Juventas, which serves coffee and cakes. The casino, piano bar and Luna lounge are also on this deck.

Deck four houses a chapel and disco, and the upper levels of the dining rooms. The lower levels are on deck three, which also houses the Samsara Restaurant, reception and lobby bar, from where you can gaze up through nine decks.

Cabins

There are 1,430 cabins, of which more than 850 are outside and 505 have balconies. There are 28 disabled cabins and 99 Samsara cabins, which have easy access to the spa.

Inside cabins measure 153 square feet, outside cabins are 198 square feet. Balcony cabins measure 194 square feet, excluding veranda. Suites range from 217 square feet for a mini-suite to 456 square feet for a Grand Suite.

Samsara cabins measure from 150 square feet for an inside cabin to 220 square feet for a room with a balcony. Suites range from 250 square feet to 300 square feet.

All cabins have TVs, hairdryers and safes. Suite passengers are welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine and daily fresh fruit in the cabin. They receive butler service, a pillow menu, and bathrobe and slippers. Lunch and dinner menus are delivered to suites.

The extra cost of a Samsara cabin includes the Wellness Package comprising a personal consultation, two spa treatments, two fitness or meditation classes, two visits to the relaxation area and unlimited entry to the thermal baths and thalasso pool. They can dine for free in the Samsara Restaurant. Samsara cabins have flat-screen TVs and Samsara products.

All cabins have access to 24-hour room service. There is a nominal charge.
