Although there are lots of American passengers, the British connection with P&O means that the ambience is slightly less Americanised than on other lines. There are no butlers in the top suites, unlike on some rival ships.
There is an open-air cinema, Movies under the Stars. There are 14 bars, but it is still possible to find some quiet areas.
Service is good, although passengers are not escorted to cabins on arrival.
SuitabilityThe ship’s flexible dining and entertainment options mean it’s a great product for those who hate the regimented cruise experience of other ships.
Good family facilities too, and for couples wanting to get married at sea or renew their wedding vows.
It’s a big ship, though – capable of carrying well over 3,100 passengers – and a smaller vessel may suit some people who hanker for a quieter, more intimate holiday experience. Hints & TipsTips are automatically added to your on-board account and can be removed upon request.
Passengers with their own laptops can log on to the Internet in the atrium.
Weddings can be filmed by web cam so family and friends can watch at home.
There is an extra charge for ice cream and other snacks outside of the main restaurants.
