The menu changes for dinner every night with new entrees, desserts, soups, salads, and appetizers. La Playa Grille offers open sitting for breakfast and lunch in a casual atmosphere. The David`s restaurant situated in-between the ship`s funnel and the top of the atrium is a speciality restaurant and to dine here a reservation is a must. The menu predominantly includes steaks and seafood for a surcharge. The décor include a 12-foot model of Michelangelo’s sculpture
Another casual alternate dinner venues are the Mermaid Grille and Mermaid Bistro. At Mermaid Bistro, buffet style dining is provided. The buffet stations are divided into small groups surrounded with dining tables. Here, breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are offered. The menu includes New York-style deli, Asian and American cuisine. Pizzeria operates 24 hours a day. Its menu includes Caesar salads, light-as-air pizza and 24-hour ice cream/frozen yogurt station.
Continental breakfast is served if ordered the night before with a door card hung. Small Danish pastries, smoked salmon and coffee are included in the menu. Apart from breakfast sandwiches and salads, dessert of the day, chocolate cake, cookies and brownies are also offered. Except coffee and tea, no other hot items are served.
Dress code is casual during the day. For evenings it may range from smart casual to informal. For formal evenings its suit or dinner jacket for men and cocktail dress for ladies. The ship provides 24-hour room service.EntertainmentThe ship provides various entertainment facilities such as good quality shows by the singers, bands and production shows. The Taj Mahal Theatre, the main show lounge, is a modern venue where production shows are staged. Though the support posts obstruct the view, the guests may not find it difficult to locate a place with unobstructed view. The décor is made up of minaret columns and elephants. At the main show lounge head phones are available for the hearing impaired. At the wedding chapel, guests can also renew their marriage vows. The casino has slot machines and every table game. Art auctions, bingo, dance classes and talent shows are conducted. Talent shows are conducted at the Camp Carnival. Guests can dance in the evenings at the aft end of the Lido deck or at the clubs. A teens’ only dance is conducted for children aged 12-17.
There are 4 pools on the ship including a children`s paddling pool. The main pool has a retractable sky dome with 4 whirlpools with a variety of eateries. There is a 72-foot spiral waterslide. On the Lido deck there are 3 small pools. At the Apollo, the central pool, various games are conducted which were designed by the Cruise Director`s staff. Venus, the forward pool, is the perfect place to laze around and sunbathe. Poseidon, the adults’ only pool is busy during the day and turns into a dance floor at nights. All the swimming pools have an adjacent whirlpool.
A jazz trio in the Raphael Lounge, a country singer in the casino bar and a pianist at the Ivory Piano bar provide entertainment. Other bars are the Perfect Game sports bar and the Japanese Ivory bar. At the Nobel library, there are 80 books behind the computer monitors. The library has 8 computer stations. There are wireless access but no hot spots other than the library-cum-Internet room and the adjacent sitting area.
For children, there is an outdoor play area, children’s pool and a two-deck-high twisty waterslide. The Fun Club is supervised by the Camp Carnival `Children`s World` programme. There are various children’s programmes for different age groups so that they do not interfere with the activities of the parents or other cruisers. The 2-deck-high twisty waterslide attracts cruisers of all ages.
