Overview

Specifically built to sail some of the remote corners of the world, this is the smallest ship in the fleet and has a traditional, less glitzy feel than some rivals. There is a greater emphasis on learning something new with an interesting guest speaker programme, and an itinerary that includes some unusual destinations. Forty per cent of cabins have private verandahs.
Service has been criticised for not being of the same standard it once was, however the Indonesian and Filipino staff are friendly and keen to please.

There have been some recent enhancement under the name Signature of Excellence, which includes fully-stocked mini bars, more flexible dining options and fruit in cabins.

Suitability

Much more suited to older passengers who like sailing on smaller ships. The ship’s size means it can sail to ports of call that bigger ships can’t reach, and because of this, passengers are likely to be slightly more adventurous or more experienced.

Families should choose another ship, because this vessel does not have any of the new kids’ facilities that have recently been added to other ships in the fleet. Most passengers are American and there are a lot of repeat passengers.
